Complete with hidden messages and in a more dramatic statement, “The Blues” is a fun and busy piece that brings together blue, green, white, and hints of cream. Adding a contemporary feel, this piece combines stands at almost 5 feet and makes a wonderful statement in an entry or hallway. The painting’s texture is accentuated by the glossy sheen of the oils used to create and preserve it, giving the artwork depth and character that can be gazed upon for hours. For art enthusiasts looking for Contemporary Fine Art in Austin, Coral Talavera’s pieces provide a beautiful fusion of color and texture.

From the artist:

“Sometimes I’ll name pieces based on what I was listening to when I painted it. This time, Noel was on the piano and Andrés on the guitar. Pure bliss.”

About the collection:

From the smallest flick of the brush to the largest gestures on the canvas, this collection is a celebration of color, energy, and movement. With the Traces series, Contemporary Artist Coral Talavera works on layers upon layers of color and texture, while exploring the effect of brushstrokes with sizes, shapes, and different forces, through works inspired by the abstract expressionist icons. With a more contemporary feel than her previous works, the artist moves into a more dramatic narrative of action and attention. “In a micro-perspective, every brushstroke matters. In a macro view, every action has a ripple effect on ourselves and others. This collection results from a meditation on these notions.”
