Sashiko Pattern Reversible Wool Scarf from The Met Museum

$125

Our reversible wool scarf interprets the pattern on a Japanese quilted cotton jacket (second half of the 19th century) in The Met collection. The sashiko quilting technique employs a running stitch to reinforce a textile or combine upcycled pieces into a new garment. This robe’s mesmeric embroidery comprises three variations on shippō-tsunagi, a pattern of interlocking circles.
