Midnight Garden Notecards from The Met Museum

$15

Our Midnight Garden notecards nod to the often overlooked genre of still-life painting. We’ve gathered details from five masterpieces in The Met collection, including three recent and important acquisitions of paintings by female artists. A Bouquet of Flowers (ca. 1612) by Clara Peeters (Flemish, ca. 1587-after 1636) as well as Flowers in a Grotesque Vase (ca. 1635) and Fruit and Flowers (ca. 1639), both by Orsola Maddalena Caccia (Italian, 1596-1676), join works by Margareta Haverman (Dutch, 1693-1722 or later) and Severin Roesen (American, b. Prussia, 1816-72?) to call attention to this virtuosic tradition.
