John Derian Snow Bunting Square Tray from The Met Museum

Our collaged paper and hand-blown glass tray features a detail from Snow Bunting (1888), a commercial color lithograph in The Met collection showcasing an image of a bird in a snowy scene juxtaposed with a tranquil picture of a marshy landscape. Snow Bunting is one of 50 trade cards belonging to a series entitled Birds of America (1888). Adapted from the Museum’s Department of Drawings and Prints, this art-inspired design was made exclusively for The Met by John Derian. Based in New York City, Derian’s workshop is celebrated for his unique decoupage creations featuring hand-blown glass.
