Decoupage Fairy Plate, Decorative Glass Our charming decoupage plate displays a detail from In Fairyland: A Series of Pictures from the Elf-World. This delightful 1870 engraving in The Met collection features an image by Richard Doyle (British, 1824-1883), a prominent Victorian artist who was noted for his fanciful depictions of elves, fairies, and gnomes. Adapted from the Museum’s Department of Drawings and Prints, this art-inspired design was made exclusively for The Met by John Derian. Based in New York City, Derian’s workshop is celebrated for his unique decoupage creations featuring hand-blown glass.
