John Derian A Ride to School Rectangular Tray from The Met Museum

$105

Our collaged paper and hand-blown glass tray features a detail from A Ride to School (1868-78), a delightful lithograph by Currier & Ives (American, 1857-1907). In this charming winter scene, a child graciously pulls two other children through the snow to school. Currier & Ives were renowned in the latter half of the 19th century for their wildly popular prints. Adapted from the Museum’s Department of Drawings and Prints, this art-inspired design was made exclusively for The Met by John Derian. Based in New York City, Derian’s workshop is celebrated for his unique decoupage creations featuring hand-blown glass.
