Heade Hummingbird and Passionflowers Pillow from The Met Museum

$105

Between 1880 and 1904, the artist and natural history devotee Martin Johnson Heade (American, 1819-1904) contributed over 100 letters and articles on hummingbirds and related topics to the American magazine Forest and Stream. The bird represented in his Hummingbird and Passionflowers (ca. 1875-85) is the black-eared fairy (Heliothryx aurita), whose habitat is the lowlands of the Amazon basin, as is the passionflower (Passiflora racemosa).
